The trial for the murder, that shocked the world with its cruelty and hate, is taking place at Oklahoma County Courthouse.

One riot police team was guarding the courthouse, where the trial of the purist Bob Survillan was taking place, because of a large crowd of protesters was gathering outside, in favor of the murderer. Slogans like "Earth belongs to humans!" and "Robots get out!" were heard.

The situation almost got out of hand when some augmented police officers hit people with batons and tasers. Police stated that the demonstrators were too close to them and they considered them a threat, despite that none of them carried anything that could be used as a weapon and some of them being very old. The crowd quickly took up stones and used them and flagpoles as weapons, at which point the riot police answered with liberal use of tear gas. After that the crowd dispersed.

Inside the trial ended quickly. Survillan pleaded not guilty, because as he said “I did kill them, but technically they are not human and there is no law protecting cyborgs.” The judges didn’t share his opinion and they concluded that the accused showed no remorse. He was sentenced to death.

The families of the victims were relieved and most of them agreed that justice was served.

“How long do we have to take theis?” Asked Bob Survillan. “The night before I did it, my 13 years old son asked me if he should augment himself so he could have a better chance of getting a job. And what could I say to him? He was right. If he cut his arm off and replace it with pistons or something, he would have a better chance at finding a job. I have seen numerous co-workers lose their job because they refused to chop off their limbs to compete with those machines. Its time to stop the bastardization of our nature with those augmentations. It’s never about helping us poor folks. It only helps big, old money, jbanking families. Everyone should make a stand.”

Reporting from Oklahoma County Courthouse, this was Max Olwell.
This is a newspaper article based on the world of Deus Ex. After the brutally murdering his co-workers (can be found here [link] ), Bob Survillan faces the judges. The police, not wanting people outside cheering, instigate a fight, so they have an excuse to use tear gas, to disperse the crowd (based on real greek police tactic).
